Help and Ideas for busy Teachers

Raising The Participation Age

From September 2013 the government has raised the age for participating in education. All current (April 2013) Year 11 students must remain in education or training until the age of 17 and from 2015 (Current Y10) all students must remain in education or training until the age of 18.

This means young people can: stay in school or college full time, gain an apprenticeship or find full time work with a training element.

The aim is to build a strong, well educated work force with L3 qualifications . More can be found on the DfE website.

Welcome to this blog for networking and supporting busy teaching staff. This is your area to discuss and share ideas, resources and useful links and information to help support our teaching communities.

Since this area is internet based, there is a focus on the use of ICT to enhance and extend the enjoyment of learning. If ever you need inspiration about the power of IT to help learners to learn, please see this video (one of my favourites), take a look at the academic research papers, the work of this academic and don’t forget NoTosh.
